Lyman J. "Greg" Gregory, a shareholder in the Firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate transactions, small business formation and transactions, and estate planning and administration. He also has special training and qualifications in the areas of land use planning and environmental law and represents clients on permit and compliance issues before local government boards and state and federal administrative agencies.

He provides full real estate development support from land acquisition to association formation to final sales.

Mr. Gregory received his Master of Regional Planning and law degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has previously worked for the Southern Environmental Law Center in Chapel Hill, and operated his own successful solo legal practice for five years before joining Marshall & Roth, the predecessor to the present firm, in 2005.

Mr. Gregory has been recognized with distinction by his legal peers. He was first named as a Best Lawyer® in 2019, and again in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, thereby ranking in the top 4% of all American lawyers.

Mr. Gregory is a native of Asheville and is active in numerous community activities. He has provided pro bono advice to various community groups on issues involving public housing authorities, conditional use permitting and zoning, and transportation.
