Lyman J. "Greg" Gregory, a shareholder in the Firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate transactions, and small business formation and transactions. He also has special training and qualifications in the areas of land use planning and environmental law and represents clients on permit and compliance issues before local government boards and state and federal administrative agencies.
In addition, he provides full real estate development support from land acquisition to association formation to final sales. He also has a very active practice representing land trusts, local governments, and property owners in conservation easement transactions.
Mr. Gregory received his Master of Regional Planning and law degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has previously worked for the Southern Environmental Law Center in Chapel Hill, and operated his own successful solo legal practice for five years before joining Marshall & Roth, the predecessor to the present firm, in 2005.
Mr. Gregory has been recognized with distinction by his legal peers. He has been rated as a Best Lawyer® for Real Estate consistently since 2018, thereby ranking in the top 4% of all American lawyers in his practice area.
Mr. Gregory is a native of Asheville and is active in numerous community activities.
